Abboushi visit

We are so excited the Abboushis have moved to Virginia! We went from being across-the-street neighbors in Austin to a 2 hour drive away here on the east coast! My intention was to drive up and help out a little so they could do whatever they needed to do to move into their new home a little more quickly and easily than they would be able to without an extra adult and pair of hands (we are still not totally moved into our own house- one year later! It’s hard with small kids!). Well, it didn’t turn out as I had planned as Faris spent a couple hours preparing the most healthy and delicious dinner EVER complete with kid-friendly options and getting the kids’ playroom set up as our overnight-accommodations; Ravyn and I spent too much time playing with all of the kids together and chatting, and then before I knew it, it was time for us to go back to Charlottesville! We had a wonderful visit and look forward to seeing eachother again but it looks like I’ll have to figure out how to be helpful some other way next time! πŸ™‚

Snack time!

How many kids can we fit into a standard bath tub? I think we’re at max capacity here!

Art time!

Happy kiddos

  1. WOW. I LOVE the picture of the 3 kids on the rainbow carpet. Our girls…our second babies…I can’t believe they are laying on the same carpet our tiny boys played on. Not so tiny now, though, are they? Sheesh. I’m so glad you visited. And you were helpful! It was a huge help to see a friend. Thanks for making the trek.

  2. I love that picture too- your kids have really sweet and content expressions on their faces. πŸ™‚ I can’t believe how fast time passes now- but I’m happy you still have the things that hold baby memories like that colorful carpet that you used to keep below a sunny window with a small basket of soft toys nearby. πŸ™‚ I’m glad our visit was helpful in some way! I loved being able to drive up and spend time together but felt a little bad that you guys ended up hosting and entertaining! Looking forward to our next get together! πŸ™‚
